Camera data Calculator

Three Calculate buttons go in different directions. The first given pixels and wide angle focal length real for camera and equivalent for 35 mm film camera it will give sensor size correction factor and angle with also telephoto size it will give times zoom. The second when given sensor size will and wide angle focal length real for camera will give equivalent for 35 mm film camera correction factor and angle with also telephoto size it will give times zoom. The third clears all.

Angle is measured diagonally. Note with Tamron the sensor size is maximum allowed for the lens which may not be the size of sensor in the camera. With Pentax lens the camera (K10D) sensor size is used. As lens and camera with known parameters these were used to test program. The Optical Format is a hypothetical measurement approximately 50% larger than the true diagonal size of a solid state photo sensor, often given in fractions of an inch, and is dependent on pixel count, and size. The latter is not normally given, so it is not of much use when comparing cameras. So no attempt has been made to use this format. List found here on Wikipedia of common sensor sizes. And more on Optical format also more here on senor sizes.
